Incorporating values and swimming skills

Here's Kayla and her small prize for being early for her lessons!

In our school, we aim to not just simply teach a child how to swim. One of our firm beliefs is that children learn values through sports as well, and we would like to be the one who encourages positive values (punctuality, discipline, responsibility, integrity) within the club.

𝙍𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙/𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙙 We introduced our reward card to encourage students to:

1) 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. They would have to keep their own reward card and present their cards to our Coordinators before the start of each class.

2) 𝘽𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨. The children get their reward stamps when they are ready for class least 5 minutes before the class starts. Through this, children are being taught to be disciplined to get ready for class, and they also get the value of punctuality instilled in them as well, that we believe will bring them far in time to come.

3) 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮. Collecting 12 stamps is not an easy feat considering that it is 3 months' worth of lessons. There are certainly days where students wish this process can fasten so that they can collect their prizes. However, they also learn about integrity and perseverance through this, and not cheat to get more stamps in the process.

So daddies and mummies, if your children are part of our reward system project, please help us to cheer them on and encourage them with positive values! Skills are important, but great values set them for life. 😊
