Phase 2 update: Condominium Classes
Dear parents,
As the news on Singapore moving into Phase 2 this morning, all of us at Odysseus Aquatics have been having several townhall meetings with Singapore Swimming Association. At the same time, ActiveSG and SportSG have released regulations for us to abide to during this period.
In summary, here are some of the updates for the usage of condominium pools:
There is a maximum of Gross Floor Area based on 10 sqm per person, or 50 people per location, whichever that is lesser (For our condominium pools, the limit is 50 people unless otherwise advised by Management)
Group ratio is limited to 5 person to 1 coach, and each swimmer will be separated by at least 1 arm’s length apart
Each separate group will be 3 meters apart and swimmers will not switch groups
There will be no sharing of equipments between swimmers
The situation now:
We have since submitted our requests to start classes at our all the condominiums we have classes in, and so far, all the respective Management offices have responded that the pool is undergoing water testing to ensure that that chlorine level is safe for swimming. This should take about a week or so and we are currently communicating closely with the Management of the respective condominiums.
We are anticipating to start our classes as early as next week, 27 June (Saturday), onwards.
What’s next?
We will be contacting all our swimmers and parents swimming in their estates over the week to check if you would like to continue with swimming lessons. Afterwhich, we will be allocating the swimmers who are resuming their classes into groups of 5 and fit everyone in according to their levels, and hopefully able to accommodate to your desired timings.
Classes remain at 45 minutes, our coaches will be wearing face shields during classes and face masks after classes. We will also be sending out a specific briefing document to all parents to prepare you for the upcoming classes.
We cant wait to see you at the pool in the next few weeks!
